June 15, 1930 — December 30, 2020

Graveside service for Patricia Rue will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Dawes Cemetery.

Patricia "Pat" Jane Rue passed away on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 at the age of 90.

The daughter of Frank and Lydia Williams Coble was born June 15th, 1930 in Miami, Oklahoma. As a young girl she was raised in the Miami area. There she would attend a rural country school outside of Miami. One spring, while visiting a friend in Chelsea, Pat would meet Lonnie Rue. They would begin dating and married on November 3, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas. The newly wed couple would make their home in Atchison, Kansas. After a few years, they would move back to Oklahoma. There they would live a short time in Chelsea, Claremore and Tulsa before settling down for good back in Chelsea.

Pat was dedicated to her family, and worked hard to help provide for them. Over the years she would work as a nurse at Eastern State Hospital and later at the Chelsea OTASCO, where she worked for 17 years. This was all done while working along side her husband to operate S&H Bait and Rue's Dairy. She also took pride in the fact that even with all the work on the farm, there was still time to raise a large garden, to provide canned vegetables for many of her family and friends.

In her spare time Pat enjoyed many things. She loved needle point, collecting dolls and cooking. She was famous for her apple and chocolate pies. Road trips were always enjoyable. Many of them were started with no destination in mind. However it was being with her family that brought her the most love and enjoyment.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lydia Coble; 9 siblings and great-grandson Crew Dunaway.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years Lonnie; children, Dale Rue and wife Helen, Tom Rue and wife Marilyn, Bill Rue and wife Dara, Sharon Sappington, and Barbara Dunaway and husband David; sister, Bobbie McQueen and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
