Vickie passed away at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. She was 68 years old. The daughter of Melvin Chester Hull and Pauline (Brown) Hull was born in Claremore on October 17, 1951. She grew up on a farm in the Chelsea area, attending Chelsea and Bushyhead schools. She loved life on the farm with her eight siblings, especially enjoying her chickens and horses. After graduating from Claremore Junior College, she became a secretary for First United Methodist Church, and also for Rice-Winton Funeral Home.
In 1967, Vickie met the love of her life, Gerald Vann. They were married on December 19, 1969. 1994 was a momentous year in Vickie's life. It was the year that she graduated nursing school at Rogers State College, and became an RN at St. John's in Tulsa, and also the year that she and her husband started their own business, Vann Metal Products. Two years later, Vickie left her nursing career to devote full time to the business.
Vickie was a devoted and very active member of First United Methodist Church, where she was involved with Sunday School, the Mary Magdalene Circle, and the Stephen Ministry. She was also blessed to be able to travel to Israel with members of her church family.
In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing and growing flowers that attracted birds and wildlife. She was a skilled home decorator, and also loved spending time with her family. They loved to travel together, on day trips, or to places in the southwestern United States.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Phillip and Melvin Hull.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Gerald; children Shane Vann and wife Tisha, Kellie Vann, and Cindy Dolak; six siblings; grandchildren Winston Vann, Brittany Strader, Corbin Vann, Kasey Vann, Sydney Jerchau, Skylar Zak, Madeline Dolak, Lily Buhr, Lukas Vann, and Clara Vann; Great-grandchildren Aydin Strader, Lily Vann, and Zarah Strader.
