Alice Louise Morton passed away at home on Sunday, June 14, 2026. She was born in Taloga, Oklahoma on December 29, 1933 to Jessie (Jones) Clark and Homer Clark. Alice married Bob Morton on September 1, 1957. They welcomed daughter Lisa Deann and son Gregory Dean. She is survived by her husband Bob, of the home, daughter Deann and husband Darrell Bruce of Welch and daughter-in-law Shannon of Tennessee. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Alice attended Taloga High School where she played basketball and track before moving onto Panhandle State University. She began working for Dr. Tisdale in Clinton, OK before marrying Bob. In the fall of 1957 the couple moved to Stillwater, OK while Bob attended Oklahoma State University. Alice worked for the OSU Extension office in Stillwater until 1960 when Bob graduated. Even though Bob was the one with the OSU degree, she loved all things Oklahoma State University!
After moving to Chelsea in 1974, the family became involved with the Chelsea Round-up Club and Will Rogers Round-up Club in Claremore. They were very active members and both served as officers. Alice was the secretary and timer for many rodeos and jackpots. She was a Gold Card PRCA member, having been a timer for stock contractor Dell Hall with Rafter H. During Clem McSpadden’s run for Governor she served as a Clementine while her kids were part of the Cowpokes.
Alice was an avid sports fan with basketball, football, and rodeo being her favorites. She and Bob have had season OSU football tickets for over 50 years and season basketball tickets for a decade. They attended the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo every year in Dallas, Oklahoma City and Las Vegas until prohibited by health. They only missed the years in California.
When Greg began his career in the music business, Alice and Bob never missed a chance to attend as many concerts as possible.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, and son Greg.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Will Rogers Stampede Heritage Foundation Scholarship fund. PO Box 392 Claremore, OK 74018
