Alma Mae Routson

Graveside services for Alma Mae Routson will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Fairview/Graham Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma. Friends are welcome. Also a visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 9, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Alma passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on July 22, 1940, in Mayes County to Elmer Roy and Georgia Mae (Hendrickson) Dunham, Alma graduated from Sequoyah High School in 1958 and pursued further education in business school. On March 18, 1961, she married Wayne Routson, and they built a life together in Claremore.

Alma had a passion for gardening, taking joy in her flowers. Alma loved collecting cookbooks, cast iron cookware, and blue carnival glass. She also enjoyed raising chickens, ducks, and geese, many of which she hatched from an incubator. She delighted listening o her husband play the guitar and sing.

Alma and Wayne shared a devoted marriage, celebrating 50 years together before his passing.

She is survived by her children, Gary Wayne Routson, Sherry Lynn Longcrier, and Larry Wade Routson; her grandchildren, Dustin Wayne Stiger and Bobby Loyd Longcrier; her brother, Fred Dunham; and her sister, Nora Hendrix and her devoted friend Beverley Prather. Alma was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Wayne Routson.
