Amanda Jane Delay

October 31, 1954 — June 30, 2020

Amanda Jane Delay, 65, passed away at 5:50 p.m., June 30, 2020, surrounded by her loving husband and children at Saint John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Amanda was born October 31, 1954, in Houston, Texas. Part of her childhood was spent living in Argentina, where her father's career took the family. After moving back to Houston, she and her sister spent their teen years hanging out with their brother and the bands he would play for, including the Almond Brothers, ZZ Top, and Dicki Betts. Amanda enjoyed many other genres, including blues, oldies, and rock and roll.  It was her love of music that later lead to her love of praise and worship. She moved to Claremore in 1976.  She married the love of her life, Ronald (Ronnie) Delay in 1984, and together they raised their children to look to the Lord, no matter what was thrown in their path. Amanda always held strong in her faith through prayer and fellowship, and was never ashamed to stop wherever she was and pray for someone, whether she knew them or not. She was always so happy to speak praises of God and His work in her life and in the lives of others. She always had a listening ear when people spoke of the Lord or their troubles and was diligent in her prayers over everyone.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Lee Delay, mother-in-law Tabitha Delay, brother and sister-in-law Tracy and Anita Ruggles, children Shannon Hogan and Justin Porter and wife Brandy, eight grandchildren, Tajia Francis and husband Dale, Malachai Hogan, Elizabeth Piccolo, Katelynn Piccolo, Alexsis Porter, and Celeste Porter, and five great grandchildren,
Joe Vera III, Jason Francis, Johnathan Francis, Carson Francis, and Lyla Cramer, all from Claremore or nearby communities.
She is proceeded in death by her mother Lillian Jack Clary, father John Ray Clary, brother Johnny Ray Clary, and sister Melissa Kay Clary.
Her viewing will be held on Monday, July 6th, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at MMS-Payne Funeral Home at 102 W 5th St., Claremore.  Family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Cedar Point Church in Claremore, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, July 7th at 4:00 p.m. with graveside service to follow.
