It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Anita Simpson, 91, who went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2025. Born in Claremore on March 27, 1934 to Eltinge and Pauline Streeter, she was the beloved wife of Bob for 66 years, a devoted mother to Carol, Linda, Jill, and Stacy, a cherished grandmother to Christina and Michael Glover; Hugh IV, Seth & Riley Ghormley, and great-grandmother to Alex Glover, Hugh V and Jace Ghormley.
Anita was known for her generous and encouraging spirit, always sending a thoughtful note, card, or call to whoever God put on her heart. She loved the Lord and was always quick to share her faith with anyone who crossed her path. She was a strong, independent woman and with her kind and warm personality, no one was a stranger.
Anita earned a BS in Education from Oklahoma State University and proudly taught there after graduation. Moving often for Dad’s job, she had the unique ability to build a home and community wherever she was. She was always a faithful and active member of her local church and had a strong love of family, which included neighbors and friends. Anyone who knew Anita knew her passion for sports, especially her Oklahoma teams! She loved working in her yard and flower beds with a personal vendetta against any dandelion brazen enough to pop up in her yard. She kept her mind sharp by working difficult crossword puzzles and reading her Bible every day.
She is survived by daughters Jill Ghormley (husband Hugh) and Stacy Simpson (husband Stefano Crivellaro), grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Lana, Joyce, and Richard, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone for their outpouring of love and prayers. You have been a continual source of support and encouragement, not only for Mom, but for us as well. Each of you have not only been a blessing, but a comfort during these difficult days.
With love, Jill and Stacy
