Autry was born on November 10, 1941, in Inola, Oklahoma, to Marion Leroy and Gracie M. (Gillum) Leach. He grew up in the Claremore area near Washington Cemetery, where he spent his childhood surrounded by family and friends. Autry met the love of his life, Sherry Lee Bell, and the couple were united in marriage on May 4, 1968. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. They first made their home in Dallas, Texas, before returning to Oklahoma and settling in the Claremore area, where they spent many happy years together.

Throughout his life, Autry worked in a variety of trades, including roofing and mechanic work. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything. Outside of work, Autry enjoyed attending auctions, swap meets, and antique stores in search of unique treasures. Over the years, he built collections that included coins, pedal tractors, signs, and keys.

One of Autry’s greatest passions was restoring classic cars. His pride and joy was his 1952 Chevrolet Bel Air, affectionately named “Blue Bell” by Sherry. The two enjoyed countless hours together cruising the roads and making memories. Autry was a proud member of the Route 66 Cruisers and attended as many events and gatherings as possible.

Family was the center of Autry’s life. He cherished the time spent with his sons, always working on the next project together. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Autry and Sherry also shared a love of dining out. He knew every restaurant’s specialty and exactly which day of the week it was served. He was an animal lover as well and shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Rebel.

Autry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sherry Leach; his children, Tony Eldon Leach and wife Lena, Randy Lloyd Leach and wife Tammy, Gary Allen Leach and wife Roxanne Webster, and Anthony Allen Leach; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Naomi Inman and Chester Leach; and a host of extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Leroy and Gracie M. Leach; and his siblings, Olan Leach, Lucille Gaghins, Peggy Cavalier, Joe Leach, and Maxine Robichaud.

Autry will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for classic cars and collecting, his sense of humor, and the countless memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the friendships he nurtured throughout his life.
