Blake Wesley Charles passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 56. Blake was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Don and Goldie Charles. He grew up there until his junior year of high school and later graduated from Claremore Public Schools with the Class of 1988.
During his younger years, Blake enjoyed wrestling, playing football, getting into trouble with his brother Shane, and spending time with his close friend, Gary Halstead. After high school, he attended Northeastern State University and Oklahoma State University.
Blake spent 35 years working in Asset Loss Prevention, building a long and dedicated career with JCPenney and Family Dollar. In his later years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing, and eating. While he wasn’t much of a cook, he proudly called himself a “foodie,” with spaghetti and chili being the only dishes he claimed to master. Music was a big part of his life, and he loved Christmas lights and pulling a good prank. Blake was the life of the party and always made an impact when he entered a room.
Above everything else, Blake loved spending time with his wife, children, bonus children, and grandchildren. He especially cherished the title of “Poppa.”
Blake was preceded in death by his father, Dewayne Littlejohn; his brother, Shane Charles; and his sister, Jeanette Littlejohn.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Green-Charles; parents, Goldie Littlejohn, and Don Charles and wife Leveda; sons, Trett Charles and wife Katie, Jake Wilhite, Josh Wilhite, and Grayson Wallace; daughters, Shelby Hoffman and husband Calvin, and Kenady Charles and fiancé Trenton Dorsey; brothers, Faron Charles and wife Cheryl, and Jay Littlejohn and wife Michelle; sister, Donna Charles; brothers-in-law, Brent Green and wife Shelley, and Brian Green and wife Tami; sister-in-law Vanessa Umble and husband Bill; mother-in-law, Joanne Green; and grandchildren, Maverick Charles, Emerson Charles, and Jessie Hoffman.
Blake will be remembered for his love of music, playful spirit, big personality, and the deep love he had for his family
