Bruce William DeGidts passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 66.
Born on December 18, 1957, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bruce was the son of Bram and Maria (Vis) DeGidts. Bruce's early years saw him living in California and Utah before his family settled in Little Kansas, Oklahoma, in the early 1970s. He attended Kansas schools and graduated with the class of 1976. After graduating Bruce attended Eastern State College where he had received a basketball scholarship. After two years, Bruce transferred to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he completed his bachelor's degree.
Upon graduation, Bruce began working for the OSU Extension Office in Claremore. During this time he met his first wife Judy. They married and had two daughters. After eight years as an extension agent, Bruce transitioned to a career in selling veterinary pharmaceuticals with Beecham, which later became Pfizer. He retired from Pfizer in November of 2013.
Shortly after retiring, Bruce met Jennie Denzer at church in 2021. They began dating and married on March 21, 2022. In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed playing pickleball, listening to music, and fishing. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Bram DeGidts, and his brother, Richard Antoine DeGidts.
He is survived by his mother, Maria DeGidts; his wife, Jennie DeGidts; his daughters, Holly DeGidts and Melanie Cochran and her husband Micah; stepchildren, Stephanie Berg and her husband Mike, Angie Hahn and her husband Luke, Dave Kerr and his wife Amy, Josh Kerr and his wife Shelly, and Joey Kerr; his sister, Renee Hammer and her husband Herb; and his grandchildren, Aurora, Bennie, Dutch, Crosby, Wyatt, Monty, Audrey, Adelaide, Coralaine, Ettalynn, Micah, Uriah, Phoebe, Shiloh, and Eden.
