Candis Ann Meador

Oct 1, 1958 — Oct 10, 2026

Broken Arrow

Candis Ann Hundley was born October 1, 1958, in Bartlesville, OK to Obie Louis Hundley and Barbara RoAnn Wynn Hundley. Her family moved to Jenks, OK where she attended school and graduated in 1976. She had 5 siblings, 2 older sisters – Tawna Wheeler and Crystal Haye, an older brother – Robie Hundley, and 2 younger sisters – Lynnette Allmon and Debbie Hall.

Music played a large role in their family and Candis was a gifted vocalist and instrumentalist. In 1976, she was selected as an oboist to be part of America’s Youth In Concert. It was America’s Bicentennial year, and they performed in Liberty Square in Philadelphia on the 4th of July. The tour also took them to Carnegie Hall in New York City before going to Europe, where they played Royal Albert Hall in London, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and wrapped their tour in Geneva, Florence, Venice, and Rome. Her younger sisters, not yet able to drive, were forced to stay home and pick bagworms that summer. But they aren’t still holding a grudge.

She attended NEO College in Miami, OK where she continued her musical career as part of the Meister Singers and participated in on-campus theatrical productions. She also began a modeling career that took her to Dallas, TX where she appeared as an extra in several movie productions and famously served as a stand-in for Linda Gray on the TV show “Dallas”. She returned to Oklahoma and began performing and singing with various bands in the region, making her mark in the local country music scene. As her popularity grew, she formed her own group – The Blue Ribbon Band – and performed all over the Southwest, sharing the stage with artists such as Conway Twitty, the Statler Brothers, and Clint Black. She even performed at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, NV during the National Finals Rodeo.

She moved to Tulsa in 1989 and began a sales career, selling office machines and office furniture before finding her true passion in the non-profit world as a fund raiser and event planner, first with the Eastern Oklahoma chapter of the March of Dimes, then with the American Cancer Society. She was led to both by direct experiences, just one example of her willingness to give back to causes that were important to her. When she learned her daughter Tori had received life-saving treatment as an infant due to research funded by the March of Dimes, she immediately began volunteering, telling her story, and doing what she could to further the mission of the March of Dimes. The volunteer quickly became a staff member, and she spent 10 years making a difference for causes close to her heart. Her event planning gift led her to the home building industry, where she found yet another passion – working for local homebuilders and helping customers build their dream homes.

While she was passionate about her work and music careers, nothing brought her more joy than being a mother. Jessica Ann Clark Wilbourn was born June 1, 1981, and Victoria Rae Bingham was born December 16, 1993. When her grandsons, Phillip Jackson Wilbourn and Lucas Mac Wilbourn came along she became a grandmother, known as “CC”. CC loved making the holidays special for her family and friends, whether it was a Fourth of July parade, Halloween garage party, or cozy Christmas dinners. CC always made everyone feel loved and welcome.

She married Andy Meador in 2011 and became step mom to Chelsea Vaka whom she also loved dearly. Candy and Andy were active members of the Asbury Methodist Church Chancel Choir. There she was able to continue her musical passion while also sharing her gift in service to her Lord. When they weren’t planting flowers, antique shopping, or playing with their cat Bella, they could often be found out on the boat.

She passed from her earthly life on October 10, 2026. Her last year was quite formidable from a health standpoint. She remained courageous throughout, leaned on her faith, and continued to inspire those who knew what she was going through. Her legacy is preserved by the impact she had on all those who were privileged to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Obie and RoAnn and two sisters – Tawna and Crystal. She is survived by her husband, Andy Meador, three siblings – Robie Hundley, Lynnette & Jim Allmon, Debbie & Brad Hall. Her two daughters Jessica and Tori, step-daughter Chelsey Vaka, sons-in-law Craig Wilbourn, Joshua Hendry, and Nita Vaka. Her beloved grandkids Jackson Wilbourn, Mac Wilbourn, Noah Hendry, Jack Hendry, Melody Vaka and Rosalie Vaka, her nieces and nephews Ashley & Sam Stanton, Eric & Courtney Pregler, Bobby & Hope Hall, and Lindsay Allmon. And her great nieces and nephews Adelyn, Braden, and Lovelyn Stanton, Parker, Olivia, Elle, and Carter Pregler.
