A Celebration of Life service for Carla Sims will be 11:00a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church, Inola, Oklahoma.
Carla Jannette Sims, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 62 years old.
Born on February 21, 1963, to Earl and Jackie O’Neal, Carla was a light in the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings—Harley, Andy, and Annette O’Neal—whom she loved dearly.
Carla shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Michael Gene Sims. Their love was a radiant example of partnership and joy. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and spontaneous adventures, especially to her favorite places like Branson and the War Eagle Craft Fair. She was the proud and loving mother of four children: Randall Edwards and his wife Tawni, with children Ethan and Alynn, Myranda Antle and her husband Stephen, with children Madison, Rylan, Kale, and Blair, Lindsay Violett and her husband Greyson, with children Raelyn, Kenley, and Carson, and Curtis Fight, her youngest and self-proclaimed favorite.
Carla’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Her pride in them was evident to anyone who stepped into her home or saw her proudly wearing one of her many “Nana” shirts. She spent countless years caring for them, spoiling them, and simply enjoying their presence. Her home was always open, a place where her children and grandchildren were encouraged to make themselves at home and feel loved.
She had a deep affection for her dogs, treating them as part of the family. Carla was known for her giving spirit, especially during her favorite time of year—Christmas. She found true happiness in giving to others and seeing their joy.
Carla was mischievous in the best way, always ready with a joke or a smile to brighten someone’s day. She was the kind of mom who made sure her children never went without, who gave her all to ensure they were cared for, and who loved fiercely and unconditionally.
Her absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
