Service for Carylon Spring will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Harvest Baptist Church. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 27, from 2pm-7pm, with family receiving visitors from 5pm-7pm. Carylon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the age of 82.
Carylon Fern Spring was born on April 16, 1943, in Warrensburg, Missouri, to Bill and Walene (Cecil) Baird, Carylon was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Carylon graduated from Calhoun High School with the class of 1961. In 1964, she married the love of her life, William Douglas Spring. Their journey together began in Clinton, Missouri, before they made their way to Illinois, finally settling in Claremore, Oklahoma, where they created a loving home filled with cherished memories.
Throughout her career, Carylon dedicated herself to building her professional path. She started working for a small newspaper in Claremore, later transitioned to positions with local attorneys, and eventually found her place at Claremore Progress as a composition supervisor. She held this position diligently until her retirement in January 2000, marking the end of an era of hard work and commitment.
Carylon's passion for family was evident in everything she did. She doted on her granddaughter, Libby Christian, whom she adored and who brought her immense joy. Holiday meals were a highlight of Carylon’s life, where she would invite family over to share the warmth and love that she created through her wonderful cooking. Known for her meticulous housekeeping, Carylon maintained a beautiful and inviting home that served as a gathering place for her loved ones.
Carylon is survived by her devoted husband, William Spring; her daughter, Shelia Christian and husband Phillip; her son, Chris Spring and wife Ronda; her granddaughter, Libby Christian; and her brother, Bob Baird and wife Pauline. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bill and Walene (Cecil) Baird, and her son, Shannon Spring.
Carylon leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and togetherness that will continue to resonate through the lives of her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
