Cecil Roy Armstrong

     Cecil Roy Armstrong was born on June 9, 1948 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  He was one of seven children born to Chesie and Elbert Armstrong.  Cecil departed this life on December 23, 2022 at the age of 74 years and 6 months.  
 

   Cecil enlisted in the US Army in 1971.  He served in the 1st Calvary as a Specialist 5.  He spent two tours in Vietnam and one in Germany.  In 1976, Cecil was honorably discharged.  During his time of service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Driver’s Badge.  


Cecil was working at Ramsey Winch when he met Lisa.  They married on November 21, 1979 in Tulsa, OK and just celebrated their 43rd anniversary.  Cecil worked a few different places before accepting a job in 1989 at Johnston Port 33.   In November 2014 he retired after 25 years as a schedule coordinator.  
 

   Cecil enjoyed spending time and playing games with his children, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.  Spades, gin rummy, trains, sequence, ladder ball, and bocce ball were some of his favorites.  He took pride in his many remodeling projects and enjoyed carpentry.  Cecil loved spending time outdoors, especially on the back porch, and took pride in the upkeep of his yard.  
 

  Cecil is survived by his wife Lisa, 3 sons, and 1 daughter: Tim & Tracey Armstrong, Jamie & Amanda Smith, Farra & Jimmy Combs, Jeremy & Marinda Armstrong.  Ten grandchildren: Alexis, Camron, Connor, Trenton, Tynlee, Tanner, Tobie, Elijah, Avery, and Kennedy.  Three great grandchildren: Triton, Matthew, & Taisley.  One brother, Jerry Armstrong of Denton, TX.  Two grand dogs: Lucy and Tex.  And a host of extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters: Marie, Pete, Ray, Faye, and Don.
