It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Christina Raye (Valentine–Bates) Hampton, who left this world far too soon on the early morning of Thursday, October 2, 2025. Born on July 2, 1978, to her parents James and Shirley Valentine at Claremore Regional Hospital, Christina brought light, laughter, and love to everyone blessed to know her.
Christina had a beautiful spirit—kind, curious, and full of life. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen and valued. Through her laughter, her generosity, and her endless compassion, she touched the lives of all around her.
Christina loved her family deeply, especially her boys. She was hardworking and dedicated to her career in nursing. She began her nursing journey at Hillcrest in Tulsa in 2001 before transferring to Claremore Hillcrest in 2002 as an RN on the Med-Surg floor. Her skill and leadership quickly shone through, leading to her promotion to the Cath Lab in January 2015. She became Cath Lab Supervisor in July 2017 and later Cath Lab Manager in August 2019. Christina truly loved her work and her team at the Cath Lab.
She began her family with the birth of her son JT in April 2007, followed by Caleb in Febuary 2009 with her husband, JC Bates. She later remarried in 2012, gaining two beloved bonus children, William and Victoria, in 2014— Jaxson was born completing her beautiful family.
A proud lifelong Chelsea Dragon, Christina was active in all her boys’ activities and never missed a game. She especially loved watching them play sports. Jaxson also participated with the Sequoyah Eagles football team for the past seven years, and she proudly supported the boys and their teammates every step of the way.
Christina will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who loved her—especially her children, William, JT, Caleb, and Jaxson, and her daughter Victoria. She is also survived by her mother Shirley, stepmother Jeannie Valentine, stepfather Tony Vanderpool, brothers Vincent, Tommy, Allen, Nicholas, and James, brothers-in-law Shane and Jeremy, sisters Victoria, Megan, Lindsay, Debbie, and Malinda, along with their families, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and coworkers.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, James Valentine; her “Daddy,” Thomas Buchanan; her special cousin, Adam Bradley, who had a big influence on Caleb and JT; her former husband, JC Bates, father of Caleb and JT; and her dear niece, Rebecca Buchanan Hill.
Rest gently, Christina. You will always be remembered, loved, and forever missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family—and especially Christina—would ask that you take time to love and cherish your loved ones.
