He then contributed his skills to Stars Parts from 2001 to 2007. Claude was a master at his craft; known for his ability to diagnose and fix any engine he encountered. His expertise extended beyond mechanics, as he often lent his knowledge over the phone to those seeking guidance on issues.

During his service, he was a member of the Army Choir, known as Radcon, and had the honor of performing at notable venues, including Carnegie Hall and on the Tennessee Ernie Ford Show.
Claude was not only recognized for his technical prowess but also for his character as a quiet and caring man. He cherished his family, providing loving support to his wife, Betsy McClendon, whom he married in 1972 after meeting in 1971. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Claremore, Claude enjoyed singing in the choir and participated in various quartets over the years, sharing his love for music with fellow congregants and friends. He was a member of the Claremore Community Chorus. His passion for automobiles was evident throughout his life; he loved his cars, especially his cherished 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air, and enjoyed being involved in car clubs such as Heart of Route 66 and Tulsa Wheels. Claude and Betsy made many treasured memories traveling to different states with these clubs. He was also a Will Rogers Memorial Docent and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with everyone who visited the Museum.
He is survived by Betsy, his brother Calvin McClendon and his wife, Susan, along with many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann.
