With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved, Cleve Wade Thompson who departed this life on Tuesday February 10th, 2026 at the age of 78.
Cleve was born on November 30, 1947 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Wade Lee Thompson and Edra Earleen Ford. He lived a life defined by strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and quiet resilience — someone who led by example and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and entertainer. Nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his family. His stories, his laughter, and his guidance will forever echo in our hearts. He taught us the value of hard work, the importance of faith, and the power of kindness.
He enjoyed being apart of 4-H, bull riding and breaking horses in his early school age years. He took great pride in his military achievements, having attended the Oklahoma Military Academy and serving in the 45th Infantry Division as a Thunderbird. He also worked for a brief but satisfying time for the city of Tulsa as an officer and traffic engineer. But it was the pursuit of music that set him free in his adult life. He learned piano at church and guitar from his cousin Carl and was in multiple bands until he met Sherrie- forming Sherrie and the Time Piece Show Band- playing both nationally and internationally. Together they forged a love of music and family that has been passed down through their generations. Cleve was most known for his warm smile, wise advice, vivid storytelling, sense of humor and his ability to do just about anything.
He is survived by siblings Curtis and Karen Thompson of Tulsa, OK, Karen and Doug Story of O’Fallon, IL and Judy Kay and Larry Penner of Wagoner, OK. Also survived by his children Trent(Niki) Thompson of Monett, MO, Ryan(Dawn) Thompson of Westville, OK, Sommer(Brandon) Schwin of Aurora, MO, his 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wade and Edra, his wife Sherrie and daughter Silver.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing his love and legacy will live on through us. We will carry his lessons, his strength, and his memory with us always.
A celebration of life will be held on February 28th, 2026 at the Elks Lodge in Claremore at 11:00.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
