Dale Alan Appleton

Apr 16, 1973 — Jun 4, 2026

Chelsea, Ok

Dale Appleton, 53, passed away on June 4, 2026.

Dale was born to Darrell Appleton and Karen Gottsch. He grew up in Buffalo, Oklahoma, and graduated from Buffalo High School as a proud Buffalo Bison with the Class of 1991. Following high school, Dale attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

Throughout his career, Dale worked as a project manager in the fertilizer industry. His work took him to several communities across Oklahoma and Kansas, including Enid and Coffeyville, before he eventually made his home in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Dale took great pride in his work and genuinely enjoyed the career he built.

Outside of work, Dale's greatest passions centered around family, ranch life, and rodeo. One of his favorite hobbies was "farming" his roping arena, where his boys and friends spent countless hours chasing steers and calves. He also enjoyed deer hunting, but nothing brought him more joy than hauling his boys to rodeos, cheering them on, and providing every opportunity possible for their success in the rodeo arena.

Dale was overjoyed to welcome his first grandson, Drexton, and cherished every moment they spent together. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially sitting on the porch with a cold beverage alongside his faithful dog, Dually.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell Appleton and Karen Gottsch.

He is survived by his sons, Dawson Appleton and wife Kylie, and Mason Appleton and fiancée Avery; his daughter, Lacey Jones; significant other Leslie Snider; his brother, Darren Appleton and wife Alinda; Step Sister Toni Lynch and husband Matt; Step brother Koll Graybill and wife Becky; his former wife, Mendy O'Rourke and husband Sean; his niece and nephew, Hannah Appleton and Ty Appleton; Bonus Children ShyAnn Snider and Rowdy Snider; his beloved grandson, Drexton Appleton; and his faithful furry companion, Dually.

Dale will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to his family, love of the outdoors, and unwavering support of his children. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In Lieu of flowers donatons can be made to the Dale Appleton Memorial Benefit Fund at RCB Bank.
