Darcy Leigh Cavanaugh, age 59, passed away on June 13, 2026 at the age of 59.
Darcy was born on December 1, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Yukon Public Schools and graduated in 1985. Following graduation, she began her career working in apartment management and eventually became manager for several area apartment complexes.
During this time, she met the love of her life, Dan Cavanaugh, a Nebraska native serving at Tinker Air Force Base. The couple married on November 5, 1988, and began a life filled with love, laughter, and family. In 1989, Darcy and Dan moved to Fremont, Nebraska, where she managed two local convenience stores. In 1999, they returned to Oklahoma and settled in Verdigris, where Darcy devoted herself to raising her family.
Darcy's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved attending her children's activities and cheering them on, especially during football season. She treasured family dinners, occasional trips to Branson, evenings spent watching soap operas, and sharing scary movies with her children.
Known for her vibrant personality, Darcy was an avid collector of pigs, accumulating everything from pictures and figurines to porcelain statues. She also possessed an infectious laugh that was so memorable and contagious that many joked it would make everyone around her laugh, whether they wanted to or not.
Darcy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Connie Miller.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Dan Cavanaugh; daughter, Danielle Weatherholtz; sons, Devin Cavanaugh and Seth Cavanaugh and wife Morgan; grandchildren, Baylie, Emi, Rosie, Levi, and Cohen; sister, Julie Smith; along with numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
Darcy's love, laughter, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
