David Keith Scott, age 66, passed away on March 25, 2026.
He was born on December 26, 1959, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Donny and Nancy (Grant) Scott. David spent his early years in Owasso before moving to Claremore, where he was raised and educated. He attended Justus and Claremore Schools before transferring to Sequoyah High School, graduating with the Class of 1978.
Following high school, David spent much of his life in the Tulsa and Claremore areas, working various jobs before eventually establishing his own horse transportation company. He took great pride in his work and especially enjoyed sharing stories from the road, including hauling the U.S. Army's horses to Washington, D.C. for President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
On October 3, 2013, David married Maralene (Kingry), and the two built a life together filled with family, friends, and shared interests.
David had a passion for cars and anything associated with them. He enjoyed attending car shows, working on vehicles, and in his younger years, participating in the Tulsa Midnight Drags. He also had a deep love for horses, boating at the lake, and spending time visiting with others. Known for his friendly nature, David never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donny Scott; and his brother, Darrill Scott.
David is survived by his mother, Nancy Scott; his wife, Maralene Scott; his sons, Brad Scott and wife Meredith, Bryon Western and wife Wendy, and Preston Western; his daughter, Karma Campbell and husband Randy; his brother, Don Scott; his grandchildren, Kennedi Hunt and husband Jacob, Dolton Scott, and Bill Campbell and wife Kelsey; his great-grandchild, Brooks Hunt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
David will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family and friends, and his ability to make anyone feel welcome.
