Debbie Krueger

Debbie Krueger went to be with her Savior on Friday, June 16, 2023. Deborah Kay Brakefield, 67, was born on December 27, 1955, in Oklahoma City, to J.B. and Dorothy Brakefield. After her birth, they moved to Duncan, OK for a short time and lived on the dairy farm that her dad ran with his parents, Ernest and Lou Brakefield. Her family then moved to Santa Barbra, California, and stayed for the next 13 years where her brothers, Jim, Ron, and Bobby were born. Debbie’s Freshman year of High School they moved back to Oklahoma and made their home on a dairy farm between Foyil and Adair. She attended Foyil High School where she meet her future husband, Dewayne Krueger. She graduated in 1974 and they married in December of the same year at Washington Baptist Church. She and Dewayne made their home, raised their children in Foyil, and celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this year. 


Debbie had many talents such as painting, crocheting, quilting, gardening, and canning. She loved doing these things for and alongside her children and grandchildren throughout the years. Debbie touched the lives of many in her community through her work at Foyil public schools as a custodian, cafeteria worker, teacher's aide, teacher, and bus driver. She was also a talented baker, what started out as a hobby turned into making hundreds of beautiful birthday, baby shower, and wedding cakes. She loved to see the joy that her cakes brought people on their special occasions. She was passionate about the Lord and sharing Christ with others. She was an active member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, cooked for the youth group on Wednesday nights, and taught Vacation Bible School every summer, she loved any opportunity to share the gospel. Debbie also traveled with International Commission to numerous countries around the world sharing the good news of Jesus. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Bobby Brakefield.


Surviving Family includes her husband Dewayne; daughter Jennifer Velasquez of Claremore and her children, Chris, Robert, Zoey, and Vivian Chaney; daughter Angela Lents of Aurora, NE, and her husband Clay with their children Austin and Tajel; son Michael Krueger of Stillwater, OK and wife Michelle with their children Maddox, Helena and Barrett; daughter Kathryn Williams of Claremore and her husband Ryan with their children Graham and Heston; brother Jim Brakefield and his wife Brenda; brother Ron Brakefield and his wife Anita; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
