Dorothy Ledean Fusik

Dorothy Fusik, affectionately known as Miss Dottie a long time resident of Rogers County passed away on September 13, 2026 at the age of 94.

Dottie was born August 11, 1932 in Cicero, Illinois. The daughter of Joseph Honsik and Myrtle Violet Honsik (Lycky). She graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, Illinois in 1950. There she was a member of the swim team and the saddle club. One of her favorite things was riding horses downtown Chicago under the L with her friend Pat. Dottie met her sweetheart, Lewis when she worked at the local soda shop. He actually was working construction for her father. It was love at first sight and they married February 10, 1951.

In 1963 her husband Lewis went to work for Mattel and moved his family to California. Then the family picked up and moved to Ogallala Nebraska in 1965 where Lewis worked for TRW. She was a stay at home mom for years and fit perfectly into the country life. Then they moved to Sargent, Nebraska to work together in an injection molding company they started. In 1971 the family adventures moved them to Claremore, Oklahoma. Dottie took a job as an account in a local firm in the early 1970's. Then worked at McDonald Douglas as a precision driller after Lewis taught her to calibrated. In 1980 her husband, Lewis gave her $500 to start what was to become Dottie's Western Wear which they built from the ground up. A popular little western store south highway 66 in Claremore. She was feisty with a great sense of humor and could hold a conversation with anyone. Dottie's was pretty much known around Oklahoma and beyond! The store closed in 2005 after her husband's death. She couldn't go anywhere without meeting somebody that knew the store. She was once on vacation in Hawaii and met an old customer.

Dottie's hobbies were many. From Canning to arts and crafts, but Dottie loved to fish like her brother, Joe. She would always bet a dollar she would catch the first or biggest fish.

Dottie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Lewis. Her beloved brother Joseph (Joe) Honsik, his wife Shelby and their parents. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Rhodes and her husband Bob (Dusty) her fishing buddy of Claremore. Her only grandchild, Rebecca Marie Rhodes of Chelsea and her husband Cary. Her son Jeff Fusik and his wife, Carla.
