Duwane Self

Edward Duwane Self passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born in El Centro, California, to Edward Lee "Bud" Self and Margie Mae Self.

Duwane grew up in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and attended Catoosa Public Schools. He worked for many years as a machine shop maintenance man and was known for his skill and dedication to his craft. Ed loved spending time outdoors — whether it was hunting, fishing, shooting, or camping, Duwane was happiest surrounded by nature. He also enjoyed tinkering with just about anything and could often be found working on a project in his spare time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward "Bud" and Margie Self; and his wife, Carolyn.

Duwane is survived by his children, Susan Dobbs and husband Charlie, and James Self and wife Leeanna; brother, Terry Self; sister, Linda Spence; grandchildren, Aubrey, Colten, Gunner, Cody, Huly, and Sidnie; along with 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Duwane will be remembered for his hardworking nature, love for the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family.
