Visitation for Elmer Thacker will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 1:00pm-7:00pm with family receiving friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Elmer passed away on December 27, 2023, he was 78.
Elmer was born at his parents’ home in Pettigrew, AR. He attended St. Paul Highschool, and worked on his parents’ farm when he wasn’t at school. He was a hard-working, honest, ornery, and all-around well-liked man. He loved to tell stories and never knew a stranger. He met his wife, Joan, in Tulsa, OK, and a few years later, they had their son, Clint. They moved to Inola, OK in 1973 and lived out their years together. He loved his granddaughters more than most would think possible, always willing to play games with them, even after working all day. He loved helping others, going to sporting events, camping, fishing, and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father— Chester and Elva, his wife — Joan, and his siblings — Lola Nell, Jackie, and Coy. He is survived by his son — Clint, grandkids — Emily, Chance, Elizabeth, and RJ, siblings and in-laws — Francis and Nellie, Carolyn, Norma Jean and Don, Carmella and Jimmy, Karra-Ann, Eddie and Connie, Larry and Deana, and his uncle Marvin as well as many other loved ones.
