Service for Doyle Dye will be 2:00p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2026, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Doyle passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026. He was 89.

Evan Doyle Dye was born October 16, 1936, in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was the son of Evan and Clairse (Stout) Dye. He attended Tulsa Public Schools, then transferred to the Oklahoma School for the Deaf, graduating in 1957.

He married Shirley Barry in 1964, and they adopted a son, Tony, who passed away in February of 2026.

Doyle worked at a print shop in Hominy, Oklahoma and Rogers, Arkansas. He worked as an assistant for a funeral home in Missouri and retired from Nelson Electric in Tulsa. He later worked as a handyman doing odd jobs.

Doyle was very active with the Tulsa Deaf Seniors, Green Country Deaf and Blind group and Jeri’s House. He loved visiting deaf friends, interacting on videophone and using the video relay service. He also enjoyed watching TV, such as WWE Wrestling, westerns, sports and soap operas.

Doyle is survived by his close cousins, his sisters-in-law, Kay Hardin of Wichita Falls, Texas, Beverly and husband Dr. Eddie McCoy of Dallas, Texas, as well as a grandson, Mathew of Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

He will be missed by his many friends and family members who knew and loved him.
