Gary Lynn Alexander passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born on October 9, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Bailey Alexander and Jimmie Kate. He grew up attending Cheney Public Schools in Kansas and graduated with the Class of 1965. Following high school, Gary felt a strong call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Air Force.
After completing his military service, he returned to Hutchinson, Kansas, where he worked alongside his father as a jeweler. He eventually took over the family business, continuing the legacy with pride and dedication.
On September 13, 2003, Gary married the love of his life, Cindy Huntsman. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with laughter, adventures, and cherished memories.
Gary was known for his fun-loving personality and ability to make those around him laugh. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed countless trips to his favorite spots, including Beaver Lake and Lake Fork in Texas, often joined by Cindy and other family members. In his downtime, he found joy in watching television and playing video games. His favorite shows included Landman, Yellowstone, Breaking Bad, war movies, and reality series like Gold Rush and Alaska: The Last Frontier.
He loved to travel, especially to Alaska, and treasured a memorable family trip to the beaches of St. Croix. Above all, Gary deeply loved his family and valued every moment spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bailey Alexander and Jimmie Kate Alexander Reep.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Alexander; children, Jordan Alexander and wife Emily, Brett Alexander, Zachary Alexander and wife Katie, Chad Alexander, Trae Willison and wife Kim, Kim Baade and husband George; siblings, Don Alexander and wife Karen, Deborah Renner and husband Steve; grandchildren, Olivia, Elliott, Garin, Tegan, Cade, Gage, Karter, and Kaleb; great-grandchildren, Lane, Ronni, and Beau; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Gary will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
