George Dayton Adams Jr., age 68, passed away on September 22, 2025.

George was born on November 18, 1956, in Warren, Ohio, to George Adams Sr. and Rosalee Adams. He attended school in Bristolville, Ohio, and proudly served in the United States Army for four years, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

In 1974, George met the love of his life, Donna, and they were married in March of 1975. The couple made their home in Chelsea, Oklahoma, and throughout the years lived in several communities across Northeast Oklahoma.

George worked as a welder for most of his life, including several years with PELCO, and he often joked that he was the “Top Dog Welder.” Outside of work, George enjoyed fishing—calling himself the “Bass King”—and took pride in his yard, especially his brand-new mower. He loved camping trips with family and friends at Grand Lake and Oologah Lake. Above all, George cherished his family and grandchildren. Though hard-headed and stubborn at times, he was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Adams Sr.; stepfather, John Emerine; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, George Adams III, Bobby Adams, and Ann Marie Watkins and husband Tim; brothers, Ben Adams, Mark Emerine, and Andy Emerine; sisters, Teresa Barbe, Marlene Mitchell, Darlene Emerine, and Debbie Melzo; sister-in-law, Rita Sampson and Cheryl Adams; brother-in-law, Steven Clark; dear family friend, Susie Appleman; grandchildren, Ashley Adams, Katie Adams, Bobby Adams Jr., Dakota Adams, Kendra Watkins, Braxton Watkins, Ameriaha Adams, Gemma Adams, Alan Lee Adams, and Avery Adams; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

George will be remembered for his big heart, his humor, and the love he showed his family.
