Gwen Lawrence Liebl, 91, of Claremore, Oklahoma, died July 7th, 2026. She was born to Edward H. Lawrence and Agnes Shinliver in Nashville, Kingman County, Kansas. In high school, Gwen began dating, and later married, the love of her life, Ron Liebl. Last year they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary

With their two young children, Gwen and Ron moved from Wichita, Kansas, to Claremore in 1964. In Claremore Gwen continued her nursing career with the Rogers County Public Health Department. Gwen tirelessly gave her time and talents to the people of Claremore. She served on the boards of several community non-profit organizations, was instrumental in organizing the Claremore Civic Band, and helped to start the Claremore Chorus with which she traveled to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall. She sang for decades in the parish choir at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Gwen loved yoga and led regular classes for women. Gwen never hesitated to help families facing hard times or health crises and has left behind a reputation of kindness, generosity, and unstoppable energy. She was a great friend to many.
