A ceremony to honor the life of Hollis “Holly” Holcomb will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at First Methodist Church. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at 1:00 p.m. Friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family present to greet visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hollis passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on March 2, 1945, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Hollis William and Soleita Mae Holcomb, Hollis was a Muldrow High School alumnus. He furthered his studies at Oklahoma City Community College, earning an associate's degree in electronic technology. Hollis served his country with distinction in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, where he was honored for his bravery while serving on the USS Ingraham. His professional career was dedicated to the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronic technician.
Hollis was passionate about numerous hobbies. A licensed ham radio operator (N5ABL), he had a keen interest in genealogy and authored several family history books. He enjoyed sports such as softball and volleyball and was fond of playing ping pong. A committed member of the Claremore First Methodist Church, Hollis also took pleasure in golfing and bow hunting, always cherishing time spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Holcomb; his children, Hollis Victory Holcomb of Bartlesville and Jasmine Ann Carter of Owasso; his sister Susan Lynn Dougan and brother Gary Don Holcomb, both of Van Buren, AR; his sister Charlotte Jeannette Fontenot of Oberlin, LA; his grandchildren Hollis Christian Holcomb of Stillwater, OK, Melanie Nicole Holcomb of Newkirk, OK, Hunter James Carter of Olivehurst, CA, and Riley Ann Carter of Owasso; and his great-grandson Hollis William Holcomb of Stillwater.
Hollis was preceded in death by his parents, Soletita Mae Holcomb and Hollis William Holcomb, and siblings Shirley Ann Pressley, Ronald Jean Holcomb, Chlois Mae Rogers, Thomas Roland Holcomb, and Danny Terrill Holcomb.
His legacy of love, dedication, and service will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
