James Keither Cody passed away on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at the age of 79.

The son of Jack and Doris Canoy Cody was born July 25th, 1943 in Alligator, Mississippi. As a young boy, he spent his time in the Mississippi delta, but at the age of 13, Jim moved to live with his grandparents in Shivers. There he would attend high school, where he would excel at basketball. He graduated as a member of the Pinola High School class of 1959. It was also in Pinola that he first met Patricia Ann Kent while on a local hayride. The two began dating and married on July 31, 1959. The newly wed couple decided to stay in Pinola, where Jim was working as a school bus driver. In the years to follow, Jim would work hard supporting his family. He eventually started his long career in the industrial manufacturing industry. It would move him from Mississippi, to Alabama, to NW Arkansas, and finally to Oklahoma. During his career, Jim traveled the world working in many areas of manufacturing from concrete to electrical systems for power plants and other industries, including overseeing the installation of electrical components of the Hoover Dam. Jim owned several small businesses of his own at different times, but found his true calling in the galvanizing Industry. Over the years Jim was sought out by many companies in the galvanizing industry. This is ultimately what brought him to Oklahoma, where he worked for Valmont Galvanizing for many years.  Jim wanted to leave a lasting mark in the industry, so he founded Quality Galvanizing in Chelsea, which is still in operation today as AZZ Galvanizing.

In his spare time, Jim had many hobbies and pastimes he enjoyed.  He loved fishing, watching football, and playing golf. He loved mowing and working on his lawn to keep it looking sharp. He loved restoring old cars and really enjoyed his 1949 Buick Roadmaster. Jim also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he held the title of Master Mason for over 25 years. However; his favorite pastime was spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Doris, and brothers, Max Cody and Charles Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cody; daughters, Mary Ann Lee and husband Thomas, Michelle Cody Smith and husband Courtland, Tina Dunn and husband David, and Beth Parmley and husband Matt; grandchildren, Jay Jackson, Nic Lee and wife Kayce, Christopher Russell and wife Heather, Jaden Adzigian, Kaitlan Parks and husband Shane, Colin Ford, and Kylee Ford; great-grandchildren, Letty Lee, Logan Weaver, Emma Adzigian, Ava Russell, and  Jacob, Madilyn, Karsten, and Callaway Parks; brother, Elson Cody, and sisters, Nancy Shows, Louise Aldridge, Betty Dear, Mary Hamilton and Pam Moore; and many good friends in the community and the Tulsa Wheels car club.
