"Jim" McCall, a cherished individual, passed away peacefully at his home on October 21, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma, shortly before his 84th birthday.
Born on October 25, 1941, in Loudon, Tennessee, he was the son of Rafe Brady and Alta Mae (Hodges) McCall. Jim received his education in Loudon, graduating from high school before venturing to Tulsa for work.
A proud American, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country with honor. On July 3, 1964, he married Donna Roye at the Methodist Church in Stigler, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that began at the Rose Bowl in Tulsa. The couple initially set down roots in Tulsa, where Jim worked for Continental Airlines before embarking on a lengthy and rewarding career with American Airlines in fleet services. In 1972, they made their home in Owasso, where Jim enjoyed ample space for his beloved horses.
Jim was known for his love of the outdoors, which beautifully complemented his passion for horses. Over the years, he had several horses, with a particular fondness for one named Diamond. His talent for restoring old saddles and tack earned him many acquaintances as he skillfully mended and remade these cherished items. An avid fan of classic country music, Jim had amassed a large collection of rare albums and had a deep appreciation for the Grand Ole Opry, often recalling not only the names of the singers but also of the entire band.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie McCall, along with his sister-in-law, Judy McCall and her children, Lenny McCall and wife Laura, Tommy McCall and wife Carrie and their families; brother-in-law, Henry Roye and his family, Dr. John Andy Roye and wife Ksenija, and their family, sister-in-law Jeannie Willingham and her family, many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Rafe Brady and Alta Mae (Hodges) McCall, his son James Travis McCall, his beloved wife, Donna McCall, his brother, Jack Brady McCall, and his in-laws, Judy Roye, Dee Willingham, Betty Lowder, Thomas Roye and wife, Joy, and Phillip Roye and wife, Darlene.
Jim McCall will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, a love for horses, and his contributions to the community. His legacy of kindness and love will resonate through the lives he touched.
