Claremore

James Scott Newcomb (Jim) passed away on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, he was 56 years old.

James was born to James and Susan (Cook) Newcomb on August 21st, 1966, in San Mateo, California. In 1976 James moved to Claremore and began attending Justus & Claremore Public Schools where he graduated with the class of 1985. During and after high school, James worked at a local grocery store where he met Judy, who he would marry some 35 years later.

James had a deep love and passion for anything in the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, boat, or just to be outside. James loved to cook and this passion led him to owning a food truck in Homer, Alaska where he and Judy lived 6 months out of the year, working his dream job. In Alaska, James met so many wonderful people that became more than just a customer, they were his extended Family. He would meet people and talk to them like he had known them all of his life, he had never met a stranger. More important than anything else in his life was his family. He loved having large gatherings at his home with all his children and grand children. They were his greatest joy in life and he loved each of them in a special way.

James is preceded in death by his father James, and sister Suzanne Stillian.

James is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, James and wife Katrina, John and wife Kendall, and Brandon Hicks and wife Sarah; daughters, Julie and fiancé Eric, and Jamie and husband Randen, his Mother Susan (Sue) and one brother Michael and wife Tracie, and a lot of nieces and nephews, all whom he loved dearly.

There will be a Celebration of Life for James at his family home on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 from 1-3 pm for all of his Friends and Family are welcome to attend.
