Celebration of Life for Jami Lynn “Red” Steiner will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 1, 2026, at New Hope Church of God. Visitation is at MMS Payne Funeral Home Thursday, April 30th, 2026. The family will be receiving friends from 4-7 pm. Jami passed away on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at 39 years of age.
Jami “Red” was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on a snowy day on May 5th, 1986. She lived the first three years of her life there. Jami would spend numerous vacations over the years returning back to the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak area. It was her second home and most favorite place to be.
In 1991, Jami started her education at a small country school called Central High in southern Oklahoma. Jami’s dad was a football coach and at every game Jami would be sitting in the stands with her sisters and her mom. Red did not watch the game…she watched the cheerleaders. Her goal was always to be a cheerleader when she grew up!
In 1996, she attended school at Claremore - Sequoyah. Jami was an active member of the cheerleading squad from 7th grade until she graduated in 2004. Her senior year she was captain of the squad. She was living her DREAM! Jami attended Rogers State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2008.
After graduation, Jami was employed by the Department of Human Services. She was a dedicated and exceptional social worker. She believed everyone should be treated equally and fairly. Her clients held a special place in her heart, and she showed up for them every single day!
In 2011, Jami married the man who captured her heart, Darrell Steiner. In 2013, they were blessed by the birth of their fiery red headed daughter, Raelynn Brooke. 2018 brought the addition of their strong willed, sour patch kid, Kennedy Addisson. Their sweet, shy, little Presley Lou or P-Lou completed their family in 2019. They were blessed!
Jami and her family attended Abide Church. She loved her church family and they loved her back! She had finally found her people. She always had a smile on her face when she was talking about Abide.
Jami is survived by her husband, Darrell Steiner of the home & their three daughters: Raelynn, Kennedy and Presley. Her stepchildren, Sean Steiner of Camp Pendleton, CA. and Aaron Steiner of Pryor, Ok. Her parents Daryl & Denise Ping of Claremore, OK. Her sister, Heather Dyer & husband Ben Dyer of Arvada, CO. Her sister, Kesha Womack & husband Zach Womack of Claremore, OK. She is also survived by her nephews Nolan Dyer, Declan Dyer & Ronin Womack. Her grandmother Sue Ping of Claremore, OK. Her in-laws Belva & Lawrence Steiner of Pryor, OK. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joshua, her grandparents Delbert & Frankie Toquothty and her grandfather Wayne Ping.
The family request any memorial contributions to be made to Sequoyah Public School in Jami's honor. The memo portion of your check, please place Cheer, att. Brodie Angel, 16441 South 4180 Road, Claremore, OK 74017.
