Jamie Carol Muller was born on December 22, 1947, to Charles W. Muller and Linda Moody Muller in Commerce, TX. She graduated from Commerce High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from East Texas State University. She later completed a Master of Architecture at the University of Texas at Arlington, all while raising her young daughter.
Jamie had a diverse and impactful career. She began as an architecture draftsperson for her father and later taught school in Texas, including Parker Intermediate in McKinney. In 1981, she opened an architectural firm in Arlington. She also organized time management seminars and managed a retail yarn store, Yarn and Stitches, where she taught classes.
Jamie authored "Now Here’s A Thought!", participated in the Ruidoso Art Loop and Studio Tour, and served on the Ruidoso Arts Council. She owned and managed CharLinda Village, a duplex development in Commerce, TX. A member of First United Methodist Church and Vessel Church, she also held leadership roles including president of Volunteers of America, and served on the Planning and Zoning Board of Arlington, TX.
Jamie was a lifelong learner and teacher and she was the first female allowed to take Mechanical Drawing at Commerce High, a Red Cross swimming instructor, and an avid dancer. She served as editor of her high school yearbook and was involved in synchronized swimming through elementary and high school.
She was creative, driven, and deeply faithful. Jamie loved dancing, teaching, architecture, and her family above all.
Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alan Edward Schmidt and brother, Charles J. Muller, III.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Isaacs and husband, Matthew, grandchildren, Eleanor Grace Isaacs and Caliger Reed Isaacs.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Jamie’s name to the following organizations.
