Janet Marie Sparger

Janet Marie Sparger passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 74.

Janet was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Raised in West Virginia She moved frequently with her family while her father served in the Navy. Janet graduated from Parksburg Catholic High School.

Janet enjoyed going to the movies with her friends and was a fantastic cook. One of her specialties was Amish bread, and her family especially looked forward to the meals she prepared for Thanksgiving and other holidays. Her turkey andstuffing were always a favorite.

Above everything else, Janet loved and cared forher family. She was truly the definition of a caregiver. Throughout her life, she cared for several family members during times of sickness and always made sure those she loved were taken care of. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grand-daughter, Kyra, who held a very special place in her heart.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Sparger; parents, Paul and Hazel Renaud.

She is survived by her son, Michael Sparger and wife Jessica, adopted son, Russell Jay Rice; Step son Ronald Paul Edward Sparger and Step daughter Marcea Ann Barton; granddaughter, Kyra Sparger and brother, David Renaud.

Janet fought a fierce battle with cancer for several years to have more time with her family. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her love of family, and the many ways she gave of herself to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
