In Loving Memory of Jason Taylor

Jason Taylor, 51, passed away peacefully at home on the 14th. He was born on December 10, 1974, in Denver City, Texas, to Joe and LaQuita Taylor.

Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and LaQita Taylor; his Taylor grandparents; and his grandmother Payne.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelly, and their son, Jacob. He also leaves behind his cherished stepsons and their families: Christopher and Jacqueline and their sons, Sean and Jamison; Daniel and Kristina and their daughter, Penelope; and Andrew and his son, Elliot. He is also survived by his grandfather Payne; his oldest sister, Jennifer; his stepmother, Nancy; his stepsisters, Sally and Emily; and his many beloved relatives in both the Payne and Taylor families, all of whom meant so much to him.

Jason had a heart as big as Texas. He was generous, kind, and always willing to help others. One of the things that made him truly special was his deep love for animals. He had such a gentle soul, and animals always seemed to recognize the kindness in him.

He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels and coins and loved spending time wandering antique shops and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Summer days often found him at the creek with family, searching for interesting rocks and enjoying the simple pleasures of being outdoors.

Some of our happiest memories were our weekend card games, especially Phase 10. Jason was famously "an expert at cheating," and his playful antics always kept everyone laughing. Those lively game nights became some of our most treasured family memories.

In recent years, Jason faced significant health challenges that affected nearly every part of his daily life. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, there is comfort in knowing that his body is finally at peace and free from pain.

To all of Jason's family and friends, please know how deeply he loved each and every one of you.

In accordance with Jason's wishes, no memorial service will be held. This was something Jason and Shelly had discussed many times. One day, their ashes will be combined and scattered together in a place that brought happiness and peace to both of their hearts.

Jason will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
