Memorial service for Joan Gertrude Bowski will be 11 a.m., Tues., May 11, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Paul Eichhoff officiating.
Joan died Sat., May 1, 2010, at the age of 77.
The daughter of Edward J. and H. Viola (Reihle) Fencl was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Chickasaw County, IA. Due to her father's Federal Employment she lived in many places in the country including Honolulu in the Early 50's. The family moved to St. Louis, MO where she graduated from St. Louis University with a BSEE. While working in St. Louis, Joan met then married John Frank Bowski on Jan. 14, 1961. Her sons were born in St. Louis but husband John's employment eventually took them to Southern California where they made their home in Mission Viejo. After her sons graduated from high school, Joan worked as a test engineer with Hughes Aircraft till she retired in 1995. She moved to Claremore 6 years ago. Joan was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, and enjoyed reading.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2000; parents; and brother, George.
Survivors include her sons: John Kevin Bowski and Brian David Bowski both of Claremore; and brother, Frederick J. Fencl of Meeker.
