Joe Louis Deanda, 86, passed away on October 2, 2026.
Joe was born on December 14, 1939, in Menard, Texas, to Victor F. and Louisa R. Deanda. He was raised alongside his older brother, Tony, and younger sister, Ana.
After graduating from high school, Joe followed his passion for horses and traveled the racehorse circuit as a jockey. With a dream of becoming a winning trainer, Joe worked hard and ultimately achieved that dream. His love for horses and the racing world remained an important part of his life.
On September 30, 1961, Joe married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Chambers. Together, they raised five children and built a loving family. In the years that followed, Joe and Gloria were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who brought great joy and pride to their lives.
Joe is survived by his five children, Angie, Vicky and husband Mike, Trish and husband Bob, Joe Louis Deanda J.r.., and Jeremy and wife Sandy; his grandchildren, Brittney and husband Dustin, Sidney husband Jesse, Ciarra and husband Jake, Jerad, Lindsay W., Lindsay L., Jacob, Nick, Trent, Joey III, and Walker; and his great-grandchildren, Zoey, Makayla, Hannah, Reid, Greyson, Jesse Jr., and Christopher. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria; his parents, Victor and Louisa Deanda; his grandparents, Antonio Ramirez and Rosa Ramirez; his brother, Tony; his sister, Ana; and his grandson, Robert.
Joe will be remembered for his love of horses, his determination to pursue his dreams, and most of all, his love for his family. The memories he created with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
