Joe Andrew Nichols

Joe Andrew Nichols, the son of Albert Erie Nichols, Jr. and Joy Marie Nichols was born on March 12, 1954 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 71.

Joe was raised in Claremore, Oklahoma, where he attended 1st through 12th grade. He loved playing baseball, and was sure to keep everyone safe as a lifeguard for the public pool. In junior high, he met the love of his life, LaDonna Lea Reed, and were married on September 1, 1973. They welcomed a daughter, Jayme, in 1977 and then a son, Jeremy, in 1980.

Joe began working at Public Service Company of Oklahoma on May 7, 1973 and was a member of IBEW 1002. He later retired from PSO/AEP on March 31, 2020 after 47 years of service.

He loved being a member of Church on the Move, where he and LaDonna served together for many years. Joe was an avid Oklahoma Sooner, OKC Thunder, and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was a faithful follower of Christ, a loving husband, dedicated father, protective brother, and a wonderful grandfather to both his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Erie Nichols, Jr. and Joy Marie Nichols.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years: LaDonna Nichols; his children: Jayme Vincent and husband, Dalton, and Jeremy Nichols and wife, Lisa; his grandchildren: Kourtney Gomez and husband, Manuel, Brooklyn Nelson, Josalyn Stafford and husband, Rayn, Kambrey Vincent, Skyler Nichols, Jayden Nichols, Payton Greene, Colby Nichols, Zane Long, Declan Long, and Rhys Long; his great-grandchildren: Abram Gomez, Zaden Nelson, Emeri Gomez, and Ivy Stafford; and his sister: Donna Killingsworth.
