Memorial service Joella Walker will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel.
Joella Christine (Jo) Walker, long time resident of Oologah, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the age of 90.
The daughter of Frederick and Ida (Bungenstock) Dearston was born October 13, 1931, east of Broken Arrow, OK.
Jo married D.P. (Dick) Walker on February 12, 1948 and raised three children. She was a very creative person with a variety of interests, including reading, crocheting, watching sports, playing games on her computer, and she loved to dance. She also had many careers during her life including bookkeeper at Ben Franklins in Van Buren, AR, Assistant Court Clerk at the Rogers County court clerks office, legal secretary, and she also worked at several different restaurants.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents, two brothers, Gerald and Ted and a sister Marg.
She is survived by her sister Donna Harper of Talala, OK, Carolyne Colson of Montrose, MO, son Ray Walker and wife Betty of Norman, OK, daughter Paula Stewart and husband Ron of Sherwood, OR, son Larry Walker of Coweta, OK one granddaughter Elizabeth Roberts of Norman, OK and two great granddaughters Olivia and Emma also of Norman OK.
