Celebration of life services for Joyce Ann McClellan will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 1:00pm at Chelsea First Baptist. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery.

Joyce Ann (Martinez) McClellan was born March 17, 1959, in Altus, Oklahoma to Bessie Marie (Sermon) and Juan Martinez. Joyce and JR met on March 10, 2001. They have walked through life sometimes at a run but enjoyed every step.

Joyce dedicated 25 years to the Dewey Police Department, where she spent her days keeping the boys in blue in line. She was dedicated to serving her community. She was deeply passionate about family and friends. She was a confidant, advisor, and friend to many. Joyce was headstrong but compassionate, those who knew her best knew her as brave and resilient. Joyce loved to go dancing, and she loved music. Her happiest times were spent on the ranch beside her husband JR or with her family and friends.

Joyce's warmth and vivacity touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her larger-than-life personality, her strength, compassion, her sense of humor, her sassiness, and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

Joyce passed from this life at her home on December 28, 2023. She is preceded in death by her mother Bessie Marie Santos, her father Juan Martinez, and three siblings Ruby Louise Martinez, Baldemar Martinez, and Johnny Ray Martinez.

She is survived by her husband J.R. McClellan; daughter Autumn Pepper and husband Stephen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, daughter Amanda Walters and husband Jeremy of Alluwe, Oklahoma, Son Michael McClellan of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Dawn Inman and husband David of Choteau, Oklahoma. Seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her extended family at the Dewey Police Department and City Hall.

Please join us in celebrating Joyce's remarkable life and the light she brought into our world. Her legacy will continue to inspire and resonate within the community and beyond.
