Judy Debra Pleasant Barnes, age 78, passed from this life on December 28, 2026. She was born July 27, 1947, to Anna Marie (Kupiec) and Vernon Sexton Pleasant at their home in Jenks, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis “Lew” Barnes; her children by birth and their spouses, Nicholas “Nick” and Laura Ryan, and Mindy (Ryan) and Thomas Kimrey; her children by love, Lewis “Bryan” Barnes and Kerry Barnes, Amanda (Barnes) and Harold Moreland, and Bob (Lee Ann) and Scott (Diane) Peck; her sister, Delores (Pleasant) Dunn; her brother, Robert Pleasant; her grandchildren, Parker Ryan, Logan Martsolf, Caleb Mader, Madison Ryan, Zachary Kimrey, Harmony Kimrey, William Kimrey, Sam Barnes, Clay Moreland, Spencer Moreland, and Piper Gonzalez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anna Marie and Vernon Pleasant, brothers, Vernon Albert and Billy Charles Pleasant, sister, Anna Laura Roberts, and grandson Aiden Matthew Ryan.
As a child, Judy was the baby sister of six, a “PK”, a barrel racer, an odds and ends finder, a Spirit Club member, and Graduate of the Class of 1965 at Jenks High School.
In her adulthood, she was a crafter, a carpenter, an artist, realtor, and an entrepreneur. She owned and managed many businesses including a restaurant, craft store, tea room, and apartments. Judy enjoyed making things and selling them, and beautifying her home.
She loved her family and she took care of them well. She was a good cook, she knew Jesus, she was a discerning woman, and she knew how to pray. She craved peace, family, and to stay busy. She was an inspiring lady.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 10, 2026, at Claremore First Assembly of God. Her family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, as expressed in John 3:16 and John 14:6.
