Judy Debra (Pleasant) Barnes, age 78, passed away on December 28, 2025. She was born on July 27, 1947, to Anna Marie (Kupiec) Pleasant and Vernon Sexton Pleasant.
Judy was the youngest of six children and graduated from Jenks High School with the Class of 1965. As a young woman, she was a “PK”, a barrel racer, an enthusiastic Pep Club member, and a collector of odds and ends.
Throughout her adulthood, Judy was known for her creativity, strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit. She worked as a crafter, carpenter, artist, realtor, and business owner, managing several ventures including a restaurant, craft store, tearoom, and apartment properties. She took pride in creating, building, and maintaining both her businesses and her home.
Judy was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her life. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply and supported them faithfully. She was a skilled cook, a discerning woman, and a committed prayer warrior.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis “Lew” Barnes; her children by birth and their spouses, Nicholas “Nick” and Laura Ryan, and Mindy (Ryan) and Thomas Kimrey; her children by love, Lewis “Bryan” Barnes and Kerry Barnes, Amanda (Barnes) and Harold Moreland, and Bob and Scott Peck; her sister, Delores (Pleasant) Dunn; her brother, Robert Pleasant; her grandchildren, Parker Ryan, Logan Martsolf, Caleb Mader, Madison Ryan, Zachary Kimrey, Harmony Kimrey, William Kimrey, Sam Barnes, Clay Moreland, Spencer Moreland, and Piper Gonzalez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Marie and Vernon Pleasant; her brothers, Vernon Albert Pleasant and Billy Charles Pleasant; her sister, Anna Laura Roberts; and her grandson, Aiden Matthew Ryan.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 10, 2026, at Claremore First Assembly of God. Her family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, as expressed in John 3:16 and John 14:6.
