Larry James Potter, 74, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on July 30, 2025.

Larry was born on February 11, 1951, in Tulsa to Elbert and Beulah Potter. He was raised in Tulsa and attended Central High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. After high school, Larry began his career working at a local synagogue before joining Tulsa Public Schools, where he worked for many years as a painter and in maintenance.

Larry had a joyful and easygoing spirit. He loved playing board games with his friends and family and was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to cheering on the University of Oklahoma. He also enjoyed playing golf, watching reality shows like Survivor and Big Brother, and spending time outdoors—particularly fishing and camping. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his loved ones and his beloved dog, JoJo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert(Sonny) and Beulah(Boots) Potter; brothers, Garry Potter and Doyle Potter; and sister, Vicki Horn.

Larry is survived by his children, Brandon Potter and Kristen McLaughlin and her husband Mac; one grandchild Shawn McLaughlin; and two step-grandchildren Dakota and Talon Rash.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the love he showed to those around him.
