Letha "Susie" Smith

March 30, 1951 — July 13, 2025

Claremore

Also known as Susie; Born March 30, 1951 to Betty Jo Simmons-Roberts and Thurmond Roberts in Claremore, OK. She passed away early morning of July 13, 2025 in her home. Susie lived a good and full life. She was the glue to everyone in her family and her friends. You would always find a group of people surrounding Susie and her home. Her home was always opened to anyone who needed a place to stay. She was truly the definition of “THE LIFE OF THE PARTY”. Family and friends loved to attend her gatherings. Another place you would find Susie was at the bar doing what she loved best; serving her people and being someone that they could talk to when they needed someone to just listen and she would be honest with them. One thing about Susie was that you never wanted to cross her in a bad way. Let’s just say she was not a woman to underestimate. When she wasn’t working or entertaining family and friends you would catch her at the BINGO hall.

She attended Claremore High School. Then in 1969 she married her first husband Lloyd Lee. In that marriage they brought two girls into the world; Penny and Yolanda. In 1974 she married her second husband Larry Smith and brought two more girls into the world; Jenny and Amanda. These four girls were her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Layton, and Uncle Robert (Bobbie). She is survived by her daughters Penny Lee of Foyil, OK, Yolanda Jones and husband Steve of Clinton, OK, Jenny Smith of Foyil, OK and Amanda Smith of Foyil, OK. Grandchildren, Robert Harriett and wife Heather, Katrina Hendrix and husband Eric, Tara Jones, Jennifer Morgan, Tiffany Braker and husband Chad, and Tyler Morgan. Great grandchildren, Autumn, Dyson, Quinton, Kensli, Ryker, Ross, Mary, Tate, Dayten, and Jolee. Sisters Starr and Sheena and Brothers Herman and Jessie. As well and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
