Funeral services for Linda Kay Paddock will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Claremore First Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Linda will be laid to rest next to her mother in Little River, Kansas.
Linda was born in Lincoln, KS, on March 17, 1957, to Robert and Shirley (Reents) Kennedy. She grew up in Minneapolis, KS, where she attended school and graduated with the class of 1975. After high school, Linda attended Hutchinson Junior College in Hutchinson, KS. She then began a long career in banking, working at various banks over the years.
While working in Wichita, KS, Linda met the love of her life, Mark Paddock, in 1990. They married in November of that same year and made their home in Tulsa, OK, where Mark lived. After a few years, they moved to Claremore in 1994 to build their forever home together. Linda's life changed forever in 1998 when she and Mark adopted their son, Kyle. She cherished her role as a mother.
Linda enjoyed gardening and was known to be a great cook, though she wouldn't admit it. She loved entertaining and was a gracious hostess. Linda also enjoyed scrapbooking and decorating her home for every season. She served as the wedding coordinator at Claremore First Methodist Church, a role she thoroughly enjoyed. A lifelong Methodist, Linda and Mark joined Claremore First Methodist in 1998. Linda loved people and always enjoyed engaging in conversation.
Mark and Linda enjoyed traveling, with Hawaii being one of their favorite destinations. They recently enjoyed a trip to Colombia. Linda was devoted to her family, faithfully calling her dad, Robert, every day for long chats. She was a dedicated wife to Mark for nearly 34 years, and they were true soulmates.
Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley. She is survived by her husband, Mark; son, Kyle Paddock, and his wife Silvia, along with their children, William, Ariana, and Noelia; father, Robert Kennedy; brothers, Kevin Kennedy and his wife Barb, and Darrell Kennedy and his wife Lisa; sister, Kerri Pelton and her husband Kent; nieces, Jayme Pelton, Stephanie Pelton, and Jill Holtkamp; nephews, Mark Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Aaron Harbutz, and Erik Harbutz; and many other relatives and friends.
