A visitation will be held for Matthew Lewis on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 11:00am to 3:00pm, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2025, at Claremore Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Matthew Lee Lewis, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 25, 2025, at the young age of 27. Born on September 6, 1998, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Dolly Christine (Tune) and Timothy Lee Lewis. Matthew's education took place in Foyil, where he forged numerous friendships that would last a lifetime. Following his schooling, he began working alongside his father in the family tree trimming and removal service.
A person of great humor and joviality, Matthew brought joy to many. His presence was a source of comfort and support to his family and friends; he was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed. Matthew's love for his sisters, Patience and Kadance, was boundless; he took pride in being their biggest supporter. An especially tender relationship blossomed with his niece, KayLynn, who held a special place in his heart. He was known for his big heart and his ability to forgive and understand others, making lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know him.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Dolly Edmisten and her husband, Ben; Timothy Lewis and his wife, Krystal; his beloved sisters, Patience Lewis and Kadance Lewis; his cherished niece, KayLynn Lewis; and his uncle Jason Lewis, along with Johnny Tune. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Janet and Jason Whitworth, and numerous cousins, including Kevin Lewis, Jeannita Werth, Faith Bradley, Piper Priddy, Jessica, Zachary, Elizabeth, and many other extended family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Tune, Marie Tune, Rodney Lewis, and Kay Lewis; his uncle, Alvin Lewis; his aunt, Christy Lewis; and his great uncle, Mike Lewis.
His legacy of laughter, compassion, and unwavering support for his loved ones will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Matthew Lee Lewis may have departed this world, but his spirit will continue to inspire joy and kindness in those he left behind.
