Michael James Dobbs of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 22nd, 2026, at the age of 60.
Michael was born on January 27th, 1966 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Ronnie and Nancy Dobbs. He was the oldest of 2 children. He grew up in Claremore and Foyil, graduating from Foyil High School in 1984.
Growing up, Michael enjoyed playing football, collecting comic books, and picking on his sister. You could find him taking things apart and putting them back together, unbeknownst to his Mom at times, or at the arcade with friends.
Michael spent the last 11 years of his life working for the Cherokee Nation at the Hard Rock Casino in Catoosa. He loved his work family, often talking about his comic book competitions with coworkers, giving out movie watching assignments, or just enjoying the day to day activities with his colleagues.
As a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Michael rarely missed out on watching the game, and with how those games went, often commiserating with family and friends on calls, officials, and horrible plays. Michael also a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan. Whether he was watching football games, keeping up with OU Softball, or collecting OU memorabilia, he has always loved them Sooners!
He had a passion for genealogy and finding out anything and everything he could on his family. Michael spent hours and hours in libraries and online searching through documents, rolls of film, and pictures, gathering information.
Another one of Michael’s passions was his love for collecting things and hitting up garage sales and antique stores. Always on the hunt for Beanie Babies to add to his daughter’s collection, OU football cards, older movies and CDs, or that missing comic book to add to his extensive collection.
Michael is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Nancy Dobbs of Chelsea, OK, his sister Melissa Rice of Claremore, OK, his daughter Kristen and Keith Frazier of Purcell, OK and his 3 grandchildren Isabella, Sloan, and Julianne, and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Micah Lynn Dobbs.
Those who remember Michael, will remember his quick wit, humor, kind and generous heart, his love for his family, and his widespread knowledge of the most random things.
