Nancy Sue Witt was born January 13, 1946 in Dustin Oklahoma to Tom and Edna Mae Snyder. She attended Henryetta High School and started working at Hefner’s drug store as a Pharmacy Technician, an industry choice that would span her entire career with multiple wonderful companies.
She worked sometimes multiple jobs at once raising her three children prior to meeting the man she always said was “the love of her life”. Nancy and Wayne Witt were married on December 4, 1980 in Fort Smith, AR. After marrying, she and her children moved to Tulsa where Wayne was a Tulsa Police Officer.
Nancy loved to travel, especially on cruise ships. She and Wayne took their first cruise and she was hooked. Over the years she cruised to many different islands. She climbed the waterfalls in Jamaica, zip lined in Belize, swam with the sting rays in Grand Cayman and para sailed in Cozumel. Two of her most memorable cruises were to Alaska and Hawaii.
Nancy also loved motorcycles. She and Wayne rode many miles through the years, the most notable being to Sturgis, SD then on to Estes Park, CO with their riding club friends.
Another favorite pastime was visiting casinos. She and Wayne took frequent trips to Laughlin, NV. Although not a big gambler, she loved being in the casino and sitting in front of the one-armed bandit, many times a penny machine. When at home she and Wayne frequented the local casinos.
Nancy and Wayne also loved camping and boating on Grand Lake. After a few years in their camper they purchased a lake home where they loved to spend weekends entertaining family and friends.
More than any traveling or adventures, Nancy loved people. As a pharmacy technician she encountered patients who were hearing impaired, which prompted her to take sign language classes at the local junior college to enable her to fully communicate with them. During her tenure at Prudential pharmacy her customer service skills came to the attention of the corporate owners and she travelled to obtain Service Plus training and trained all the staff for the pharmacies.
Nancy’s greatest love was her husband and her family. She and Wayne frequently travelled with their children and grandchildren to one of their favorite spots, Branson, MO. Whether it was watching a country music show or riding Fire in the Hole in Silver Dollar City her smile was never bigger than when she had a grandchild with her.
Nancy will be remembered most for her overwhelming love, acceptance and support of anyone who needed it. She never met a stranger and heard anyone’s life story that was willing to share. She was a woman of faith, trusting the Lord regardless her circumstances and she shared that faith freely.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene Snyder, sister Patsy Mosco, brother Leroy Snyder and sister Connie Snyder.
