Service for Fayrene Patterson will be 10:00a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Triumph Family Worship in Oklahoma City, burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, from 4pm-7pm. Fayrene passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She was 80.
Nona Fayrene Patterson was born on December 28, 1944, in Alamend, California, to Jesse Roland and Nona May (Shumaker) Lair, Fayrene exemplified a life rich in family values and deep faith. Fayrene's early life was marked by frequent relocations due to her father's union job, which allowed her to attend schools in various locations. This adaptability would be reflected in her later years as she lovingly dedicated herself to her family. Though Fayrene worked as a bookkeeper for many years, she found her greatest achievement in caring for her loved ones. She was committed to ensuring that her family had everything needed to thrive, embodying the very essence of support and love.
While living with her sister in Britton, Oklahoma, Fayrene met Glen Allen Patterson, who would become her devoted husband. The couple was united in marriage on May 1, 1962, and they initially made their home in Britton. In 1972, they moved to Moore, Oklahoma, where they resided until 2019 before relocating to Inola to be near family.
Fayrene's personality shone brightly in every gathering, characterized by her strong-willed nature and her ability to make others feel cherished. Her warm smile would uplift those around her, creating joyful memories with family and friends alike. Faith played a central role in Fayrene's life, as she was an active member of Triumph Family Worship from 1979 until 2019, and later, The Porch Church in Inola.
Fayrene had many hobbies that brought her joy; she loved making jewelry and baby blankets, enjoyed playing card games and dominos, and took delight in observing birds and butterflies. These simple pleasures enriched her life and those of the people she cherished.
Fayrene is survived by her loving husband, Glen Allen Patterson, and her children: Charles Roland Patterson of Sequoyah, Oklahoma; Chad Eugene Patterson and wife Shannon Lee of Inola; grandchildren, Hunter A.C.E. Patterson and wife Hannah Mae of Inola; and Ashlee Oneta Sumner and husband Jeremiah Dean of San Diego, California; as well as Emilee Fayrene Bynum and husband Micah John David of Claremore. She was also a proud grandmother to great-grandchildren Harlee Skye Patterson and Holston Ace Patterson. Fayrene is remembered fondly by her sister, Louetta May Andrews and husband Geary Edward of Little Rock, Arkansas; and sister-in-law, Linda Darline Lair of Searcy, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Roland and Nona May (Shumaker) Lair, her son Glen Dale Patterson, her brothers Donald Jesse Lair and Loyd Alvin Lair, and her sister Eula Beatrice Gazeway.
Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
