Claremore

A funeral service will be held on December 16th, 2022 at the MMS- Payne Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m.

Pamela Lynn James was born to Virginia and James McGhee on an Air Force base in the United Kingdom on December 2nd, 1952.
Pam, 70, a fighter until the end, took her last breath in the comforts of her home surrounded by the affection of her family and beloved pets on December 13th after a boldly fought battle with colon cancer.
Upon Pam’s passing, her friends and family were asked to recount a few words that came to mind when describing her character. Notably, Pam was described as curious, funny, loyal, selfless, crafty, a great cook, an animal enthusiast, the real QVC queen, helpful, sensitive, strong, and organized.
But undoubtedly, Pam was consistently declared as hard-working. Pam prided herself in the cleanliness of her home;so much so, she made a successful career of cleaning commercial and residential businesses and homes. In her professional and personal life, Pam was known for going above and beyond.
Pam will always be remembered by her selfless acts. If one of her grandkids needed a costume, she would make it. If the family was having a gathering, she would make her famous rolls. If a stray animal was found roaming the neighborhood, she would feed it. If you needed a ride, she would pick you up. Pamela, Pam, Mom, Grandma Pam was one of a kind.
Pam was predeceased by her parents, Virginia and James McGhee, and her son, Sonny Wayne Thorne. She is survived by her two sisters and brother, Diane McGhee of San Diego, California, Debbie McGhee of Palm Springs, California, and Michael McGhee of Atwater, California, her two daughters, Chelene and husband Paul Rogers of Claremore, Oklahoma and Jessica Thorne of Tulsa, Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews, and her four grandchildren, Miranda Thorne, Brett McClendon, Cameron Glen, and Miley Rogers all of Claremore, Oklahoma.
On Earth, Pam had a passion for collecting angel figurines; her family and friends can find peace in knowing that she is now amongst the angels in Heaven.
