Pamela Sue Pilgrim

January 24, 1951 — December 7, 2019

Pamela Sue Pilgrim was born to Joyce and Sam Bryson , January 24th, 1951.  Pam was an only child who left this world with five sisters and three brothers on December 6th 2019.  Much like her life, she was far from normal in the most colorful and wonderful way, as well as tough as nails.  The love of her life is her husband, Stanley who she married November 1974. She loved him for all that he is until her last breath. She took pride in taking care of him. She explained, even with all their ups and downs, she still got butterflies when she would see him across the room. She couldn’t explain the depth of her love in words, but it showed daily In the way she cared for him.

Mom, as many called her,  loved her children with every fiber of her being. At times she worked three jobs and went without dinner so we were taken care of, and she did it all with a smile.

No matter the problem, she reminded us “it will all come out in the wash” and crying over something wasn’t going to make it better, but it was okay to feel our emotions.

Mom was a hard worker, it took her years to learn to sit down and rest. Once she was introduced to technology, she would read many books a week, and she loved google. “The world at her fingertips”, she would say.

If you knew her at all you have her infectious laugh memorized and could find her anywhere by following that sound. Mom gave of herself to everyone. She taught us to love everyone, and that judgment was not ours to give. She never left things unsaid, and she reminded us that tomorrow wasn’t a promise. Mom passed on her vast wisdom to anyone who would listen. She knew everything about any plant or animal you could think of, and probably some you had no idea were in existence. She was a friend as well as a mother to us. We could talk to her about everything, and we did. She loved her grandchildren so very much that even when she knew she was not going to win the battle with her cancer, the only tears she shed were for the pain she knew her babies would feel.

Mom was a content woman, she loved her farm and the lovely home dad built for her. She cherished her family and friends, who will all miss her dearly. We talked many times and she agreed, only her body was leaving us. She is here with us and we will all be together soon. Until then she will watch over us, and would scold any of us for crying and being sad over her departure. So, when you think of our mother and your friend, smile and remember all the silly things she did to make us laugh.
